Koalas Drop 2 at Point

In the first conference match of the season the Koalas were looking to make an early statement. Unfortunately the offense didn't have the type of production needed to do so. In the two game against Point, the Koalas were only able to score one run. Defensively the Koalas are solid, with some great pitching from freshman Elizabeth Stroud the Koalas pitching staff, they can really stifle the opposing teams bats.

Stroud's abilities were showcsed this past week against Point. She pitched both games (the second game went into extra innings). Combined Stroud faced 55 batters, and had 3 strikeouts and 5 walks with a total of 4 earned runs in 13 innings of pitching. With a little help from the offense and more solid defensive play the Koalas could really make an impact in the conference and possibly nationally.

Today the Koalas face a team from Canada in a double-header exhibition. The games will be played at home starting at 5 pm.
