Softball Comes Back Strong

In their home opener the softball team put on a show at the plate. Dealing with frigid temperatures, mixed with some rain, the Koalas showed up big time as they took on Humber University out of Toronto. Although the second game of the double header was canceled due to the weather, there was enough action in the first game to make up the difference.

The pitchers for the Koalas, freshman Madison Wren and Elizabeth Stroud held their own as they limited the the opposing team to only 3 runs. On the other hand the Koalas had production from a number of different players that aided in the 8-3 victory. Sophomore Alexus Jennings was 1-2 with a double in the second that turned into an in the park homerun and earned her 3 RBI's. Freshman Hallie Robertson was 2-2 with 2 singles and also scored twice for the Koalas.

The team is looking to ride this momentum into next week as they face Edward Waters at home on the 27th. Games start at 1 and 3 pm.
