In this last week of the season the Koalas have finally found the spark they needed to string together a couple of victories on the road. Last night, the latest victims were the Montreat Cavaliers. From start to finish the Koalas dominated the pace of the game and controlled the ball. Crisp passing, good defense and playing with a sense of urgency was the formula that allowed the Koalas to gain another victory. For the majority of the second half the Koalas led by 20 points. The game ended with a score of 59-48.
Leading in scoring was sophomore Denijah Johnson who walked away with a total of 16 points and 7 rebounds. Tied with 13 points was junior Morgan Varn and senior Amber Sherrill. Other scorers included Kinard, Morgan, Mohammed, Hawes, and Weyer.
The Koalas have two games left in the season. Thursday is an away game at Point University. Saturday is the last game of the season against Bryan College. It will also be the last home game of the season. The seniors on the team will be recognized and honored prior to the start of that game. Jump ball is at 2pm.
