Brown named AAC Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Columbia College freshman lacrosse goalie Diamond Brown from Queens, NY was named Week 1: Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for week ending 2/19.

Brown totaled eleven saves per game as the starting goalie against both Coker College Wednesday and AAC Conference Opponent Asbury University on Saturday. In her first career conference game, Brown tallied eleven saves with only two goals against to post an impressive save percentage of 84.

"Diamond is a rare talent and has contributed to our success since she stepped onto campus in the fall," Commented Head Coach Daniel Carter. "We're glad she is being recognized as the defensive player of the week and we're confident she will be a standout in every one of our games remaining in the season."

This marks Brown's first career conference award.
