Senior Kendra Blackstock from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and sophomore Alexa Campbell from Malvern, PA, were both named to the 2017 Appalachian Athletic Conference First-Team All-Conference prior to their outstanding performances at the AAC Conference Tournament.
Blackstock lead the team's stats in goals, assists, shots, and shots-on-goal. She averaged 3.76 goals per game with a total of 64 goals for the regular season ranking her 8th in the NAIA for goals.
Additionally, Blackstock averaged 7.18 shots per game with a total of 122 in 2017 with 5.71 shots on goal for a total of 97 ranking her 9th in the NAIA in both categories. As an unstoppable attacker with a shooting percentage of 53%, Blackstock was quick to share the scoring as she also lead the team in assists with an average of 1.59 assists for a total of 27, ranking her 10th in the NAIA.
Blackstock was also honored by the AAC as a weekly recipient of the Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for April 10th, 2017. Blackstock was also a member of the 2016 NAIA All-America Second Team.
Defensive midfielder Alexa Campbell lead the defense in the 2017 season to a remarkable number of defensive stops. She pulled up 36 groundballs across the field. While on the circle, Campbell managed 21 draw controls making her a formidable force on either side of the restraining line. She posted 27 caused turnovers in the 2017 season alone.
Campbell also posted 5 goals and 3 assists supporting the attack line while in the midfield. Both Blackstock and Campbell represented the Columbia College women's lacrosse team as captains for the 2016-17 season.
