Zyanna Giles Signs for 2018 Koalas Soccer Class

Columbia College Soccer Head Coach has added Zyanna Giles to the 2018 Koalas soccer signing class.

Zyanna, the granddaughter of Dwight and Debra Giles, will come to Columbia from West Florence High School in Florence, SC, where she has played varsity soccer for the past three years under the tutelage of Coach Josh Puryear.

Outside of her school soccer career, she played for both SCUFC and Florence Soccer Association.  While at SCUFC, her teams won four state titles, qualified for USYSA Regionals, and were Disney Showcase Finalists.  While at FSA, her team was PMSL State Cup Runners Up in 2017.

Upon arriving at Columbia College, Zyanna plans to major in Physical Therapy.

Coach Hunter said about Zyanna, "Coach Puryear and I have known each other for a while, and when I asked him to recommend me players from his team to take a look at, Zyanna was the first player he mentioned.  She is quick, athletic, and has a great understanding of the game, as well as being a versatile left-footed player who feels comfortable playing in a variety of positions on the field. I feel as if her background of playing at an extremely competitive level will be a huge benefit to our program, and we look forward to having Zyanna join us in the fall."
