The Koala swim team competed last week in the NAIA National Championships. There were four athletes that competed in Columbus, Georgia. Seniors Cassie Adams, and Marianne DeWitt, sophomores Tabitha Simonson and Haley Stewart all competed in the relays and swam in individual events as well.
Cassis Adams competed in the 100 and 200 breastroke and scored in both. Finishing in 14th and 12th place respectively, she was the only member to score any points in the individual events. She also competed in the 100 yard butterfly. With this meet, Cassie is now the first swimmer in program history to score individually in all 4 national championship meets that she attended.
DeWitt swam the 50 and 200 yard freestyle. Stewart swam in the 50,100, and 200 yard freestyle. Simonson competed in the 400 yard individual medley. All four swimmers competed in all 5 relays that the team qualified in. With the points that were scored, the team finished the meet in 21st place.
Congratulations to Coach Gallaher and the fighting Koala swimmers. Full results will be available for viewing.
