Turk is originally from Istanbul, Turkey. As a child he swam professionally from the ages of 5 until 18, at which point he moved to the United States. In high school he was a 2x Kentucky State Championship Qualifier before he was offered a scholarship to swim at Lindsey Wilson College in 2013. As a collegite swimmer he was a 3x Mid-South Conference all-academic swimmer. Turk was a member of the national qualifying team while at Lindsey Wilson and was aslo named a team captain. During Turks senior year he served as a student assistant for the swim team. After graduating from Lindsey Wilson with a bachelors degee in recreation, tourism, and sports management in 2017; Turk became a graduate assistant for the swim team from 2017 until 2019. He received his master degree in business administration in December of 2018.
As an assistant coach at Lidnsey Wilson, Turk has helped develop numerous nationally ranked NAIA swimmers. He has also coached USA club swim teams and also highschool teams. Turk was also selected to coach for both Kentucky's Southern Zones team and also Mid-State Allstar Championship Team in 2019.
Coach Dogruyol will be taking the position as the new head swim coach. He is excited to get started and has the experience to help propel the swim program to the next level.
