Tennis Finishes as Champions of Character

COLUMBIA, S.C.- The Columbia College tennis program finished their 2012-2013 season as the Appalachain Athletic Conference member institution award winners for the Champions of Character initiative set forth by the NAIA.

The Fighting Koalas lost in a heart breaking battle aagainst the Tennessee Wesleyan Lady Bulldogs in the first round of the post-season 6-3.  The AAC tennis standings included 2 members breaking into the top 25 in the NAIA standings. SCAD-Atlanta was ranked at No. 19 while Milligan Lady Buffs sat at No. 21 going into post-season. An AAC non-member, Xaiver went on to win the post-season tournament and advance to the national tournament.

The Columbia College tennis program finished the year 5-8 and team member, Mara Reiss was named to the AAC all academic team.
