Track Competes at Wake Forest Invite

In a weeekend full of action, the Columbia College Track team found themselves right in the thick of it and did not disappoint with their performances. In a meet that hosted a wide range of competition the Koalas stood tall and ran hard. This was a non scoring meet but featured 5 new school records and a number of qualifying marks for the AAC Championships.

Starting things off was Freshman Triple Jumper Daisha Johnson who qualified for the conference meet with a jump of 31-1.25. Along with Johnson was freshman Heather Woolard who qualified in the 200m with a time of 28.32. Also qualifying as a freshman was Aija Wall and Amber Bell. Both athletes qualified for conference, and Bell also broke a school record in the 400m and 200m with a time of 1:01.39 and 26.75 respectively. Bell and Wall were also members of a 1600m relay team that broke a new school record with a time of 4:19.85. They were joined by Sophomore Kelsey-White Kennedy and Senior Lauren Glencross. Glencross not only helped on the relay but she also set her own schol record and qualified in the 800m  with a time of 2:21.19. And rounding off the record breakers for this weekend was Junior Alyssa Waibel in the 3k. She ran a time of 11:18.60 which is also a qualifying mark and was joined by Hannah Mishkoff who ran 12:12.32, who qualified as well.
