CC Volleyball Adds Mackenzie Wood

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Columbia College Fighting Koalas volleyball program announced the addition of defensive specialist, Mackenzie Wood to their 2013 recruiting class.

Wood is originally from Bristol, TN where she currently attends Tennessee High School. Coming off a successful high school campaign she looks to pursue a degree is education. Wood commented on her future at Columbia, "Volleyball has been my life and I'm glad I get to continue my career at Columbia College."

A four year captain, Wood was named All-Conference in back to back seasons and was named to the All-Academic team. Head Coach Katie Welsh is excited about Wood's enthusiastic outlook, "Mackenzie is going to bring energy and work ethic to this new recruiting class. She knows her speciality is defense and is excited about the opportunity to contribute to our program."

Columbia College volleyball kicks off their 2013 season against Division II opponent Emmanuel College in late August.
