Volleyball Welcomes Kara Anderson
COLUMBIA, S.C. - Head Volleyball Coach, Katie Welsh announced the addition of Kara Anderson to the 2013 recruiting class. Anderson a native of Bristol, TN will join the Fighting Koalas next fall for the 2013-2014 season.
Anderson is currently a senior at Sullivan East High School in Bristol, TN. She has had a successful career on the court and in the classroom. During her high school athletic career Anderson helped lead the Lady Patriots to a fifth place finish in 2010 and was a two time conference tournament MVP.
During her junior and senior season she was back to back District Player of the Year in 2011-12 and was honored as a member of the 2012 Class AA All-State Volleyball team. While at Columbia Anderson plans on pursuing a degree in journalism.
Head Coach Katie Welsh commented about what Anderson brings to the program, "Kara is an amazing student-athlete. She brings a well-rounded perspective and has a desire to execute on and off the court."
Anderson was the first recruit to commit for 2013 and will compete as an Outside Hitter in the fall. Columbia is apart of the Appalachain Athletic Conference and associated with the NAIA.
