With the Summer coming to an end, comes the excitement of the school year beginning. Columbia College opened its doors on Sunday for all the Fall sport athletes. Cross Country, Soccer, and Volleyball players spent the day moving in and preparing themselves for preseason workouts that will begon as soon as Tuesday. Each team for the Fall has seen an increase in the number of athletes, and that will pay off during the season with the addition of Kentucky Christian to the AAC Conference. With the addition of another institution, the AAC is now the largest conference in the NAIA, which means more games and better competition for the Koalas. With the loss of some key players like: Ruby Hallam (Soccer), Alyssa Waibel (Cross Country), and Taylor Rawl (Volleyball), each coach will be looking for a number of athletes to step up and fill some key roles on each team.
Soccer will have scrimmages against USC Salkehatchie and Allen University at home on August 20th and 24th. The first regular season game will be on August 27th, and the first home game will be August 31st against Piedmont International.
Volleyball will be hosting a scrimmage against Claflin and North Greenville on August 30th, with the regular season starting on September 3rd at home against Morris.
Cross Country will be competing at USC in the Carolina Challenge 5k on August 31st.
You can find the full team schedules on each team page respectively.
