Jaguar Cross Country Challenge Recap

Jaguar Cross Country Challenge Recap

Friday the Koalas travelled to Augusta, Ga. to compete in the Jaguar Cross Country Challenge against NCAA Division II schools.  The course featured a flat 1.1 mile loop with weather in the low 80's.

"We wanted to use this race a tempo workout to prepare for Sand Shark next weekend, and I feel we did just that", Coach Nichols said of his team.

The Koalas started fast and stayed within themselves for the first loop but they quickly moved up and began picking off competitors.  Senior Janay Chisholm was first to cross the line for the Koalas in her 2nd top 10 finish of the year, running a 21:00 to finish in 10th place.  Irene Requena was only 8 seconds behind Chisholm (21:08) in 11th.  Qu'Essence Gillison fought through the whole race and came up strong for Columbia College in 13th.
