Cross Country finishes 6th at Black Mountain

The Koalas fought hard at their season ending AAC Conference Meet in Black Mountain, North Carolina.

"Each of the runners started well and held tough throughout the hilly course", says Coach Nichols. "It definitely was not the end result we wanted as a team, but it was a very good learning experience".

The Koalas finished 6th out of 12 teams but were only a single point away from a 4th place finish.

Alyssa Waibel, first year, led the way in 24th, Qu Gillison followed her very closely in 27th. Senior Janay Chisholm, Irene Requena, Tay Mavins, Lauren Glencross, Annika Wicht and Helen Taylor were 31st, 41st, 51st, 57th, 58th, and 60th respectively.

The team closed out the season with their best 1-5 spread and best overall team average.

Although the Koalas did not finish their season how Coach Nichols would have wanted, he was optomistic about the future. "It was by far my favorite season," Coach Nichols said following the meet, "and I cannot wait to see these young women continue to improve".
