Tennis Wins Conference Opener

COLUMBIA, S.C.- The Columbia College women's Tennis team won today in their SSAC conference opener against Emmanuel College, 6-3.  The Fighting Koalas are coming off an impressive win against Peace College and took charge winning two out of the three doubles matches on the day.

Columbia proved to be composed and strong in the number one and two singles. Senior, Lilit  Martirosyan won at number one singles with a score of 6-2, 6-2. Sophomore, Danielle Cupid, had a solid performance at the number two singles spot with a score of 6-3,3-6, and 7-5. Freshman, Raven Fair also dominated Emmanuel's number four singles 6-1, 6-0. Keneisha Whittington rounded out the singles play with a win 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.

The Fighting Koalas Tennis team is 1-0 in the SSAC East Conference and 2-4 overall. The tennis team will be back in action at Godbold tennis courts on March 3rd at 3:45 p.m against Wesleyan College.
