Tennis Celebrates Seniors

COLUMBIA, S.C.- The Columbia College tennis team honored the senior members of the 2010-2011 season: Ashley Chapman and Lilit Martirosayn.

Ashley Chapman came to Columbia College in 2006 and has competed for the Fighting Koalas for four seasons. Chapman has been a primary singles player as well as competed on the number two and three doubles teams. Coach Lindsey Hughes commented about her senior captain stating, “Ashley is dedicated and committed to the team and has developed as a vocal leader. She is dependable and has been our captain the last two years.” Chapman will graduate this May with a degree in Psychology.

Lilit Martirosayn is a transfer student and has competed for Columbia for the past two seasons. Martirosyan has been positioned as the top singles and doubles player, which earned her player of the week recognition from the Southern States Athletic Conference. Head coach Lindsey Hughes adds, “Lilit puts 110% of effort in every aspect of her life both academically and athletically. Her work ethic, competitive drive, and skill level embody what a student-athlete should be.” Martirosayn plans to graduate May of 2012 with a degree in Computer Information Systems.
