O'Bannon Named AAC Defensive Player of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Junior wing Chandler O'Bannon of Columbia College was named as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced  Monday.

This is the ninth edition of the awards for the 2025-26 season. Columbia is now 9-11 on the season and tied for 6th in the conference at 6-5. The team will next be in action on Saturday at home to host Montreat College at 4:30 pm.

AAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Chandler O'Bannon - Columbia - Junior

• Collected 13 defensive rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 steals in helping Columbia to a 2-0 record and extend their win streak to five games. 
• Averaged 16.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in wins over SMC and Milligan.
• Also dished out 8 assists.
• This is his first weekly honor of the season.
• He is averaging 10.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game on the season
