Men's Golf Finishes 9th at AAC Tournament

ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. - The Columbia College men's golf team finished 9th out of 14 schools at the 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Golf Tournament championship on Tuesday. The three-round, two-day event was held at Barnsley Inn & Golf Club in Adairsville, GA.

Reinhardt won the team title by five strokes over CIU while Tennessee Wesleyan was third, Truett McConnell (4th), and SCAD Atlanta (5th) round out the top five. Making up the rest of the field were Bluefield (6th), St. Andrews (7th), Milligan (8th), Columbia (9th, +73), Pikeville (10th), Montreat (11th), Bryan (12th), Johnson (13th), and Union Commonwealth (14th). SCAD's Juan Dubra was the individual medalist finishing at -4 under par 212 to win by 5 shots.

Columbia shot a 23-over 311 in round one Monday morning to sit in a tie for 6th place before shooting a 22-over 310 in round two later Monday to remain in 6th place as their second round was the 6th-best score of round two. However, CC struggled on Tuesday during round three shooting a 316 to fall into 9th place with a total score of 937, just missing Milligan in 8th by one shot and Bluefield in 6th by 5 strokes.

Individually, CC was led by freshman Thomas Campbell tying for 11th overall at 13-over 229 after he shot rounds of 74 (6th-best of round one) and 79 on Monday, but came back with a 4-over 76 on Tuesday while finishing with 8 birdies in the event. Columbia's Male Athlete of the Year and 3x AAC Player of the Week, Blake Vaughn, finished 32nd at 19-over 235 with Monday rounds of 77 and 75 before falling back to an 83 on Tuesday. He finished with six birdies in the tournament and was also named to the Champions of Character team.

Sophomore Ryan Lord then placed 36th overall at 21-over 237 after shooting scores of 80 and 75 on day one and 82 on day two as he also posted six birdies. Freshman Hayden Ardis then finished 47th overall out of 75 with a 26-over 242 as he was consistent with rounds of 80, 81, and 81 while fellow freshman Zachary Mock was 53rd at 29-over 245 shooting rounds of 83 and 85 on Monday, but coming back strong to shoot a 5-over 77 in round three Tuesday to post the second-best Koala score in the final round and 25th-best of round three.
