Men's Golf Finishes 12th at AAC Fall Showcase
ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. - The Columbia College men's golf team finished in 12th place at the two-day AAC Fall Showcase from Barnsley Resort in Georgia.
The Koalas shot a 327 in round one on Monday to tie for 9th before improving by three strokes to shoot a 324 in round two on Tuesday to finish at +75-over 651. Reinhardt won the tournament followed by CIU and TWU. Columbia finished just 11 shots back of 9th place.
Freshman Parker Gordish led the Koalas finishing in a tie for 11th overall with his 9-over 153 after shooting rounds of 78 on day one and 75 in round two. Tying with Gordish for 11th was sophomore Zach Mock, playing as an individual, shooting rounds of 80 on Monday and improving by seven shots to shoot the top round for the Koalas on Tuesday at 1-over 73 to also finish at 153.
Shooting the next best scores for the Koalas was freshman Daniel Freese at 166 to tie for 61st with consecutive rounds of 83. Fellow freshman Brandon Russ then tied for 65th at 168 with two rounds of 84.
Sophomore Josh Brown then finished 67th at 169 after scores of 82 and 87 while junior Ryan Lord also tied for 67th at 169 with the inverse of Brown shooting 87 Monday and improving by five on Tuesday with an 82.
This wraps up the fall season for the men as they will next hit the links in the spring in late February or early March.
