Koala Men's Lax Falls to Defending Champion Keiser on the Road

WEST PALM BEACH, FL - The Columbia College men's lacrosse team fell 26-4 on the road at 2nd ranked Keiser University (FL), the three-time defending NAIA Champions, in conference action in Florida on Thursday afternoon.

Columbia was led by 3 goals from freshman midfielder Noah Norwood and another from sophomore defender Peyton Brand along with two assists from Brand and an assist from freshman attacker Gavin Gordon. Norwood now has 16 goals on the season.

Norwood led in shots attempted with 12 and five on goal along with winning four face-offs while goalies Fin Landi and Joshua Nguyen combined to make 17 saves on 43 shots on goal. Landi played the first half, making 8 saves with a caused turnover while Nguyen played the second half, corralling nine saves.

Freshman defender Kaelan Robinson also collected three ground balls while causing a KU turnover. Freshman midfielder William Tanks won three face-offs while causing a turnover, collecting a ground ball and attempting two shots as well.

The Koalas fell to 1-6 on the year and 0-2 in the conference while #2 Keiser improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the AAC.

Columbia will remain in Florida to take on Webber International on Friday afternoon at 1:00 PM.
