PIKEVILLE, KY - The Columbia College men's soccer team settled for a 2-2 draw on the road against conference opponent, the University of Pikeville on Saturday in Kentucky.
The Koalas scored two first half goals to carry a 2-0 advantage into the halftime break. Sophomore midfielder Angel Andreucetti opened the scoring for CC in the 29th minute of play on an unassisted goal before sophomore forward Marco Novellino scored 15 minutes later in the 43rd minute off an assist from freshman forward Jacob Madeiros.
Pikeville (3-2-1) then stepped up their game in the second half outshooting the Koalas 8-1 and scoring within an 8-minute span late in the second half to tie Columbia. UP scored in the 79th minute and the 87th minute.
Senior keeper Mathias Gravesen recorded four saves on six shots on goal. Pikeville remained unbeaten in the conference and is now 2-0-1.
The Koalas are now 2-1-1 on the year and 1-1-1 in the conference and will next head to Greensboro College in NC on Wednesday to battle the Div. III foe at 4:00 pm.
