Timmerman Leads Men's XC at Converse

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Columbia College Men's cross country team competed in the Div. II Converse University 8K (4.9 mile) Kickoff meet on Saturday morning.

The nearly 5 mile meet, which consisted of mostly NCAA D-2 schools, was won by Anderson (SC), followed by Catawba (NC), Wingate (NC), AAC foe Montreat, Lincoln (TN), and Converse in the top six. The Koalas finished in 17th place among the 26 schools, just 2 points behind Claflin (SC) for 16th finishing ahead of Presbyterian (SC), Emmanuel (GA), Limestone (SC), FMU, Coker (SC), and CIU as well.

Leading the men was senior Patrick Timmerman coming in 97th place out of the over 200 runners in the meet in a time of 27:58. Senior Dorde Racic then followed next for CC finishing 127th in a time of 29:01 while sophomore William Bull came in tight behind Racic in 135th place in 29:09. Junior Kristian Sanchez came across next in 153rd place with a time of 29:41.

Finally, sophomore Harold Nolan placed 218th in a time of 36:17.

 The men will next be on the course this coming Saturday, Sept. 28 when they host the Akiah McMillan Invitational Presented by Koala Bottle which will be held at The Farm in Newberry, SC with a 9:00 am start.
