Men's XC Competes in 8K Louisville Classic
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Columbia College men's cross country team competed in the Louisville Classic over the weekend running in the 8K Silver Division along with other numerous NAIA, D-2 and Club teams. Columbia ended up finishing 24th overall as a team among over 30 schools.
The University of Kentucky club team won the meet followed by D-2s Glenville State (WV), Mercyhurst (PA) and D1 Austin Peay (TN). Conference foes SMC and Union (KY) also ran and finished 14th and 19th.
Leading the Koalas in the near 5-mile race was freshman Alex Blake running a time of 28:56 to finish in 104th place while senior Kristian Sanchez finished in 30:49 to place 166th. Freshman Elijah Fink then came next for cC placing 180th in 31:22 while fellow freshman DJ McGriff-Agers was 189th in 31:48. Freshman Jalen Miller then finished out the scoring for CC placing 200th in 32:25.
Freshmen Will Parker and Jimmy Bates also ran as individuals with Parker placing 211th in 33:42 while Bates was in 34:21. Freshman Jordon Miller then placed 218th in 34:26. Jude Dill then finished up the Koala runners coming across in a time of 35:14.
The cross country team will next be in action on Oct. 18 at the USC-Upstate Invitational in Spartanburg.
