by: MRG
Columbia, SC -- Younts Stadium will once again be home to Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) soccer action, as the Columbia College (SC) men's soccer host Bluefield University in a 4 p.m. conference contest Wednesday, Sept. 15. The Koalas, who defeated Kentucky Christian University last Saturday, are seeking their third straight win in its inaugural season.
Kickoff will be following the women's match at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Admission is free for Columbia College students, faculty, and staff with Columbia College ID and $5 for all other spectators.
The contest should be a highly contested match between two balanced teams coming off victories in their last outing.
In its inaugural home contest, Columbia College (2-1-0, 1-0-0 AAC) defeated the Knights 2-1. Koye' Gnamien secured the victory off free-kick with just under seven minutes left on the clock. The first-ever home goal for the Koalas was scored by Micah Hill.
Bluefield, who is currently 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the AAC, will also be playing its second conference game. They dropped their only conference contest to Reinhardt University, 2-1, on September 8. Most recently (September 11), the Rams beat the University of Pikeville 4-1.
After Wednesday's game, Columbia College will have six days off before returning to action on Wednesday, Sept. 22, when they travel to Montreat, NC, to face the Cavaliers of Montreat College.
